Materials You'll Need:
- Different types of ribbons, you can use red double face satin ribbon, ivory and red striped grosgrain ribbon, stripe ribbon, and red and white gingham ribbon. You can use a silk ribbon as the hangers for the letters.
- Scrap pieces of cardboard
- Tape or hot glue
Draw the letters for your sign using a marker.
After sketching out all of the letters, cut them out and arrange them and put them in a row. It will help you choose the colors that you want to use.
After finishing the previous step, taping and gluing the end of your ribbon to the back of the letter. And then start wrapping the ribbon around the letter, slightly overlapping. There may be some angles or edges of the ribbon that can require you to cut small pieces of ribbon to glue or tape for getting the ribbons to layout correctly.
In this step, take the 1/4 inches of silk ribbon and cut them into two equal lengths. And glue them to the back of the letter and bring them together at the other end to tie a bow. You can embellish it with rhinestones.
Repeat the previous step on each letter until done. You can also choose a mix and match ribbon patterns for a shabbier chic look.
At last, hang them on a blank wall that needs a special touch, in a kid's room or nursery, in a classroom of an empty coat rack.
By following the above-mentioned step, you can give a special touch to your home decor and also hide an extra spot of your wall.
